Edith Guitron Commeree

As a graduate of Oregon’s K–12 and higher education programs, Edith recognizes that each of her lived experiences has supported her in achieving her academic and career goals. It is through these experiences that she discovered her passion for helping students find their voice and learn to advocate for their academic needs as they work toward their goals, both now and beyond high school.

Outside of her role as a school counselor, Edith serves as a MEChA club advisor, continues her own learning to better support students, connects with educators across the country through the NEA Leaders for Just Schools program, and attends student events and performances whenever possible.

Beyond Grant’s campus, she enjoys Portland’s community events, exploring new coffee and tea shops, and experiencing all of Portland’s seasons.
